In his account of Hayle’s beginnings, David recalls university life, work and late-night conversations with Gideon about the loneliness that could exist inside a connected digital world. They wanted shared interests to give people a reason to meet.
The early app explored that idea through interests such as hiking, photography and film. It was developed alongside studies and part-time work, with a focus on conversation rather than popularity.
David records 6 April 2018 as the incorporation of Hayle Inc. The company grew from an earlier concept into a commitment the founders could build around together.
Pitching, early testing and an alpha launch brought lessons as well as setbacks. Those experiences helped establish the purpose that continues through Hayle’s client work and in-house ventures: helping people find one another.
